Biography

Dr. Rui Shi is currently a full-time researcher at the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University, Denmark. He received his Ph.D. from the School of Chemistry at Sun Yat-sen University, China, in 2018 for his work on the Vacuum Ultraviolet (VUV)—UV spectroscopic study of lanthanide-doped materials. Following graduation, he continued his career as a researcher at the School of Physics at Sun Yat-sen University, China, the Department of Physics at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and the Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry at Stockholm University, Sweden, respectively. His research works are featured in more than 32 peer-reviewed papers (including 16 papers as the first/corresponding author), among which 4 papers are selected as the covers of journals and highlighted by scientific media. He also applied 5 Chinese patents. His current research interests are associated with the investigation of energy transfer dynamics in lanthanide-doped materials and the controllable synthesis of luminescent nanocrystals.
