From 2017 to 2022, member of CSIC scientific committee for the Area of Agricultural Sciences.
Research activity focused in the control of virus diseases of crop plants, including the analysis of plant-virus-vector interactions and molecular aspects of the mechanisms of virus transmission by aphids or whiteflies, as well as host defense responses against viruses, with contributions to key publication on gene silencing suppression, and to the identification of new suppressors of silencing in ipomoviruses (CVYV, SPMMV), and a novel mechanism of RNA slippage for gene expression in potyviruses. Recent focus on mixed viral infections. Co-authored 54 ISI publications (Scopus h index = 29), more than 10 book chapters and 2 patents about expression vectors and diagnostic systems for viruses.
