Biography

Cristina Sánchez López de Pablo received her M. Eng. Degree in Telecommunication Engineering (2009), her M. Sc. Degree in Telemedicine and Bioengineering (2010), and her Ph. D. in Biomedical Enginering (Cum Laude Mention, 2014), from the Technical University of Madrid.

Her research activity began at the Center for Biomedical Technology (CTB) at the UPM, with a grant from the Center for Biomedical Research in Network (CIBER) to which she belonged as a collaborating researcher from 2007 to 2017. Here, she participated in 4 CIBER R&D+I projects, in 1 National Plan project, in 1 project of the Community of Madrid, and in 1 project from the CIEN Foundation.

At San Pablo CEU University (USP-CEU), she has been part of the Research Team in 1 USP-CEU precompetitive project (2017-2018), in 2 National Plan project (2019-2022, 2022-), and in 1 CDTI project (2020-2022). This has allowed her to publish a total of 12 articles in several indexed (JCR) journals (7 Q1, 4 Q2, and 1 Q4), and 20 contributions in scientific congresses. She has also been part of 9 thesis committees, and she has participated in several scientific dissemination activities (European Researchers Night, Science Week). Her research activity is mainly focused on bioinstrumentation, biosensors, and assistive technologies. The above merits have led her to achieve a Six-Year Research Period (2012-2017).

Her teaching activity began in the 2013-2014 academic year at Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) where she worked as an associate professor. Since the 2014-2015 academic year, she has been teaching at the Institute of Technology (EPS) at USP-CEU, where she has been part-time associate professor (2014-2016), full-time doctoral collaborating professor (2017-2022), and full-time adjunct professor (2022-). Here, she has taught in 10 undergraduate and 5 masters courses, accumulating more than 2000 teaching hours. She has also directed 15 Final Degree Projects (TFGs).

She has always obtained a positive evaluation from the students. Thus, her weighted average annual teaching was above 9/10. In addition, she received 2 CEU Ángel Herrera Awards for the best teaching work of the EPS USP-CEU (2019-2020, 2021-2022). She actively participates in Teaching Innovation activities that have resulted in 5 contributions in Teaching Innovation Congresses organized by the USEP-CEU, and 2 Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) projects.

Finally, she participates in the university management as international relations coordinator (2017-).

Cristina Sánchez recibió su título de Ingeniera de Telecomunicación (2009), su título de Máster en Telemedicina y Bioingeniería (2010), y su título de Doctora en Ingeniería Biomédica (Cum Laude, 2013), en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).

Su actividad investigadora empezó en el Centro de Tecnología Biomédica (CTB) de la UPM, con una beca del Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red (CIBER), al cual perteneció y colaboró desde 2007 hasta 2017. Aquí, participó en 4 proyectos CIBER I+D+i, en 1 proyecto del Plan Nacional, en 1 proyecto de la Comunidad de Madrid, y en 1 proyecto de la Fundación CIEN.

En la Universidad San Pablo CEU (USP-CEU), ha participado como parte del Equipo de Investigación en 1 proyecto precompetitivo USP-CEU, en 2 proyectos del Plan Nacional (2019-2022, 2022-), y en 1 proyecto CDTI (2020-2022). Esta actividad la ha llevado a publicar un total de 12 artículos (7 Q1, 4 Q2 y 1 Q4) en revistas indexadas (JCR) y a realizar 20 contribuciones en congresos científicos. Además, ha formado parte del tribunal en 9 tesis doctorales, y ha participado en varias actividades de difusión científica (Noche Europea de los Investigadores, Semana de la Ciencia). Su actividad investigadora se orienta a bioinstrumentación, biosensores, y tecnologías asistivas. Los méritos anteriores la han llevado a obtener 1 Sexenio de Investigación (2012-2017).

Su actividad docente comenzó en el curso académico 2013-2014 en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), donde trabajó como profesora asociada. Desde 2014, ha impartido clase en la Escuela Politécnica Superior (EPS) de la USP-CEU, donde ha sido profesora asociada (2014-2016), profesora colaboradora doctora (2017-2022), y profesora adjunta (2022-). Aquí, ha dado clase en 10 asignaturas de grado y en 5 de máster, acumulando más de 2000 horas de docencia.

Siempre ha obtenido una evaluación positiva por parte de los alumnos. De hecho, siempre a recibido notas por encima de 9/10. Además, ha recibido 2 premios CEU Ángel Herrera, a la mejor labor docente de la EPS (2019-2020, 2021-2022). Ha participado activamente en iniciativas de innovación docente dando lugar a 5 contribuciones en Congresos de Innovación Docente organizados por la USP-CEU, y ha realizado 2 proyectos COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning).

Finalmente, participa también en la gestión universitaria como coordinadora de relaciones internacionales en la EPS (2017-).
