Biography
I am a comparative ecophysiologist who is driven by an extensive fascination with the diverse physiological mechanisms that control and regulate the behaviour of living things. My expertise spans from investigating cellular processes at the ionic and molecular scale to comprehending the orchestrated physiological dynamics of entire organisms within their ecological niches.
My research strives to push the boundary of ecophysiological research by combining cutting-edge field approaches with state-of-the-art laboratory techniques to unravel how organisms adjust their physiology to cope with challenges faced in the wild and in captivity. Ultimately, my professional ambitions are to i) continue contributing towards the ever-growing body of physiological knowledge in the literature, ii) impart my knowledge and passion for the ‘core concepts of physiology’ to the next generation of scientists, and iii) equip decision-makers and practitioners with the insights needed to ensure the sustainability of both wild and captive animal populations.
