Biography

I am a highly qualified academic with a PhD in Health Science and a Doctorate level BPS accredited qualification in Health Psychology. I am registered with the British Psychological Society as a Chartered Psychologist and with the Health and Care Professionals Council as a Health Psychologist. I also hold qualifications in doctoral supervision and counselling skills.

I have been employed as a Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University since 2013. In this role I have held responsibilities across the psychology provision including postgraduate course lead, module leader, student mentor and Professional Doctorate/PhD supervisor. I also mentor other tutors and provide support with ethical reviewing. In 2024 I was promoted to Associate Professor of Qualitative Health Research.

I have held several voluntary and academic citizenship roles including: external examining, PhD examining, advising on course design/development and link tutor support for accredited partnership courses. I am currently an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Health Psychology and I sit on the Division of Health Psychology training committee and EDI taskforce.
