Biography
I completed a Bachelor of Sciences degree at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia in 2006. Following a two-year service as a graduate assistant at the same University, I joined Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology, Addis Ababa University for my Masters degree in Tropical and Infectious diseases which and completed in 2010. Since then I served the University of Gondar in teaching, research and community services until I moved to Adelaide for my Ph.D. During my Ph.D, I developed adenoassociated virus-based vaccination to elicit liver resident memory T cells against hepatitis C virus. Currently, I am working as a research officer aiming to develop vaccines against HIV, HCV and ZIKV.
