Biography
Marija Pešić was born in Leskovac, Serbia on January 8, 1986. She completed her basic studies at the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" in Zrenjanin in 2005. At the same Faculty, she completed her master's studies in Clothing Technology. In 2011, she defended her master's thesis on the topic: "Analysis of the impact of finishing on different types of materials in the production of jeans clothes". She defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "Research on the thermophysiological comfort of ribbed knitwear" at the Faculty of Technology in Leskovac, University of Niš, Serbia in 2020.
From 2010 to 2012, she worked at the "NO NO Club" company in Belgrade in technical preparation for the production of children's clothing. From 2012 to 2019, she was engaged as a participant in the project "Development of new and improvement of existing technological processes for the production of technical textile materials" through the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of Serbia. From 2010 to 2021, she was employed as an assistant at the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" in Zrenjanin, and from 2021 to the present, she was elected to the position of assistant professor for the narrow scientific field of textile and clothing science.
She is a member of the Expert Council for Art at the University of Novi Sad, a member of the Scientific and Organizational Committee of the international conference "Textile Science and Economy" and a member of the Management Board of the Fashion and Clothing Industry Cluster of Serbia "FACTS".
Scientific professional interests are related to: construction and modeling of clothing, computer construction of clothing, CAD/CAM systems in the clothing industry, sustainable textile materials, sustainable production in the fashion and clothing industry, technical preparation in clothing production, thermophysiological comfort of clothing .
