Ecotoxicology, molecular and population genetics, population and community ecology

Biography

My main research interests are centred on refining the environmental risk assessment of chemicals. My scientific background spans molecular biology, population and community ecology. Having previously worked in aquatic ecology and effluent discharge monitoring, I have moved to working with several model species including zebrafish (Danio rerio) and medaka (Oryzias latipes) in a laboratory ecotoxicology setting. I am particularly interested in extrapolating from ecotoxicological endpoints measured in individuals to adverse effects at the population and community level and the application of computational models simulating species’ life-histories and/or foodweb interactions.
