Biography
Prof. Hongwei Tian received a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering from Jilin University in 1999, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in materials physics and chemistry from Jilin University in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He is full professor of materials physics and chemistry, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Jilin University. His main research interests focus on graphene-based nanocomposites, perovskite metal oxides and pentlandite metal sulfide for energy storage & conversion, including supercapacitors, photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction and electrochemical water splitting. Currently, he has published 157 peer reviewed papers and his papers have received more than 4700 citations (H-index: 36), 8 papers were selected as ESI highly cited papers. He hosted over two NSFC projects, one national defense project, seven provincial projects and five company’s projects, with a total fund of more than 5 million Yuan. He obtained 27 national invention patents. He was selected as a Top 1% highly cited authors by the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2019. He was selected as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists since 2020. He is the invited reviewer of more than 100 internationally renowned SCI journals, including Nat. Commun., Coordin. Chem. Rev., Appl. Catal. B-Environ., Chem. Eng. J., Small, J. Energy Chem., Nano Res., J. Eur. Ceram. Soc., etc. Since November 1, 2021, he has served as the Review Editor of FRONTIERS IN CHEMISTY.
