Biography
I earned my Bs. in Physics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2005, followed by a Ph.D. from Universidad de Concepción (UdeC) in 2010. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted groundbreaking theoretical research on black holes with dual horizons, co-supervised by the Centro de Estudios Cientificos in Valdivia, Chile. Subsequently, my Ph.D. program immersed me in the realm of light and optics, culminating in a thesis focused on experimental physics, specifically laser trapping and biophysics.
For the following eight years, I served as a Research Assistant at the Center for Optics and Photonics within the Physics Faculty at UdeC, where I now hold an academic position. My current research spans various disciplines, including laser-based cell membrane spectroscopy, optical tweezers, micro-thermodynamics, active systems, and the study of light propagation phenomena in different media. I have been actively involved in eight scientific projects funded by Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo (ANID), assuming leadership roles in three of them. Additionally, I directed two applied projects funded by FONDEF-ANID, focusing on the integration of artificial vision techniques into microscopy for sample sorting and classification.
