Biography
Doctor (PhD) of Medicine from the University of Barcelona. Specialist in Family and Community Medicine and Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Master's Degree in Health Sciences Methodology. Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Healthcare Quality.
Member of various working groups of scientific societies of primary care and public health.
After some research grants, she has worked in various positions related to primary care and public health, especially in the field of health promotion and prevention, highlighting the healthcare management of Primary Care at the Catalan Institute in l'Hospitalet de Llobregat (around 250,000 inhabitants) and the launch of the first primary care research unit in Catalonia.
From 2006 to May 2021 she was Deputy Director General of Health Promotion of the Secretariat of Public Health of the Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia. From June 2021 to August 2024 Secretary of Public Health of that same Department. Retired since August 2024. Since September 2024, she has held the vice-presidency of the Commission for the Evaluation, Innovation, Operational Reform and Sustainability of the Health System (CAIROS) for the reform and sustainability of the health system, an independent advisory committee of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
Her main area of work and research is health promotion and prevention, especially smoking cessation, health in all policies and immunization, developing multiple research, teaching and outreach activities in these fields.
