Biography
Mao V. NGO is a System Architect in Future Communications R&D Programme (FCP), at SUTD. He received a B.E. in Telecommunications in Engineering from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine in Jul 2011; and received M.E. in Electronic Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam in Apr 2015. He earned the Ph.D. in Information System Technology and Design from SUTD in Aug 2020.
He has both industrial and academic experience. From 2011 to 2015, he worked as a Software Engineer for telecommunication products. From Jul 2015 to Aug 2016, he worked as a Research Assistant in a wireless body area networks project in SUTD. During the period of 2016--2020, he pursued the Ph.D. on Machine Learning in Edge Computing under the supervision of Prof. Tony Q.S. Quek, Prof. Tony Luo Tie, and Dr. Derek Leong. After graduation Ph.D., he worked as a Research Fellow on Federated Learning project at SUTD. Then, he worked as a Research Scientist on applying machine learning to cybersecurity at I2R, A*STAR under a year before joining FCP programme.
His research interests include Machine Learning, Federated Learning, Edge Computing, 5G and beyond, and Data Mining for IoT. Earlier research topics were wireless sensor networks, scheduling for IoT networks.
