Biography

Dr. Shiping Chen is a senior principal research scientist in CSIRO Data61, where he leads a research team working on software architecture and data analytics platforms. He holds an conjoint professor title with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) through teaching and supervising PhD students. He has been working on distributed systems for over 20 years with focus on performance and security. He has published over 240+ research papers in these research areas. He is actively involved in computing research community through publications, journal editorships and conference TPC services, including WWW, EDOC, ICSOC and IEEE ICWS/SCC/CLOUD. His current research interests include application security, blockchain and service computing. He is a fellow of IET and a senior member of the IEEE.
