Biography
Dr. Nancy Bolan recently joined the University of Maryland School of Nursing, Office of Global Health as an Assistant Professor. Nancy initially practiced as a nurse, family nurse practitioner and certified nurse midwife in underserved communities in the US. She later managed health programs in Eastern Zaire post-genocide and worked with USAID and IMA World Health and StandProud in Kinshasa, DR Congo. Nancy has consulted with various organizations in Geneva, Switzerland: WHO, The Global Fund, GAVI, International Council of Nurses, and World Vision International. Dr. Bolan’s current research is on the use of MLearning with health workers in sub-Saharan Africa, newborn care, and strengthening health systems. She holds a PhD from the Medical University of South Carolina and an MPH from Columbia University.
