Biography
Katrina Scior, BSc DClinPsy PhD, is a European, UK-trained clinical psychologist, researcher and trainer, with expertise in stigma pertaining to disability, mental health difficulties, ageing and stigmatised physical health conditions. Katrina's vision is for research to play an active role in developing and testing solutions that will contribute to the fight against the stigmatisation of marginalised groups. Katrina is the Founder-Director of the UCL Unit for Stigma Research (UCLUS), and Co-Director (with Angela Hassiotis and Vaso Totsika) of UCL's Centre for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research (CIDDR).
Sep 2018 - Sep 2022: Joint Programme Director of UCL's Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Europe's and very likely the world's largest provider of clinical psychology training to doctorate level.
Other roles/appointments:
-2021-2023 International research consultant for UNDP and UN Women jointly led programme ASDWD, focused on stigma, discrimination and violence experienced by women with disabilities globally.
-Expert adviser (pro bono) to Mencap in UK and Special Olympics International for their strategic programmes focused on attitude change.
-Expert adviser to the Validity Foundation on their Access to Justice for people with intellectual disabilities programme, completed in November 2024
