Biography
After completing a Diploma in Biology at the Philipps-Universität in Germany, specialising in animal physiology, I visited Latrobe University in Melbourne to study thermoregulatory mechanisms in marsupials. This was followed by a PhD project at the University of Tasmania and CSIRO, focussing on physiological adaptation to environmental changes in fish. Since then he has worked as an aquaculture biologist at CSIRO and the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies as part of the Sense-T aquaculture project. I have now embarked on a journey to explore the molecular mechanisms relating to Alzheimer’s disease, learning and memory in fruit flies at the Menzies Research Institute.
