Biography

Áurea Rodrigues holds a PhD in Tourism Studies from the University of Aveiro, where her research focused on sustainable tourism practices and the interplay between tourism development, environmental conservation, heritage preservation, and consumer behavior. Her scholarly work rigorously examines the socio-economic impacts of tourism on local communities and investigates how consumer experiences influence tourism choices. She is dedicated to exploring innovative strategies that integrate ecological, cultural, and experiential considerations into tourism policies and management frameworks. Currently serving as a Tourism Professor at the University of Évora, Rodrigues engages in teaching and mentoring students in sustainable tourism and related disciplines. She actively contributes to the academic community through her involvement in international conferences and collaborative research projects aimed at advancing the principles of responsible tourism, consumer engagement, and heritage conservation.
