Biography
My research focuses on the intricate interactions between viruses and host cells that dictate the outcomes of infection, using flaviviruses like HCV, Zika and Dengue as models. I investigate initial antiviral defenses and the strategies these viruses employ to evade them, enabling replication and pathogenesis. Additionally, I study how viruses exploit critical cellular systems, such as the proteasome and cytoskeleton, to create favourable environments for their replication.
By integrating functional screens, proteomics, transcriptomics, and advanced molecular virology techniques, my work seeks to uncover novel mechanisms of viral manipulation. These insights aim to inform innovative antiviral strategies while advancing translational research in host-pathogen biology.
