Biography
Professor Dr. Arshad Ahmad is actively involved in developing knowledge and tools to enhance the level of efficiency and safety of the process industry. As the Director of the Institute of Hydrogen Economy, he drives a dynamic team of researchers to establish technologies and provide support services for the production and utilisation of hydrogen as a source of energy.
In the last 30 years, he has successfully implemented variety of projects in research, training and consultancy. Dr. Arshad enjoys sharing of knowledge through classroom teaching in the university as well as through training programs crafted to suit the needs of the practitioners in the industry.
Although his activities cover the wider spectrum of chemical engineering, his main interest is more related to process modelling & control, process safety & risk assessment, occupational safety and health, as well as hydrogen production and applications.
Dr. Arshad holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Colorado State University, a Master's in Biochemical Engineering from Swansea University and a Ph.D. in Process Control from University of Newcastle upon Tyne. A nature lover, he finds time to explore and enjoys the world.
