Biography
Graduated in Biology since 2007 with the award of Extraordinary Prizes and Biology PhD since 2012 with the award of Extraordinary Prizes. Since I finished my degree I worked in the predoctoral stage at Legal Medicine and Toxicology Department under the direction of Professor Jose Antonio Lorente. During all this time I have been collaborating in teaching and scientific tasks, as it is proved with the 34 publications in indexed databases (JCR) in the forensic genetic, biomedicine and oncology field, most of the half in Q1 standing. I have an expertise training in research and teaching activities which is recognised by national agencies such as ANECA, having the title as“ayudante Doctor” since January 2013 and“contratado doctor”since March 2015. At the same time, I actively collaborate with Liquid Biopsy and Metastasis group at the Centre for Genomics and Oncological Research (GENYO); and with the private biotechnological enterprise LORGEN GP. I am co-main researcher in a project entitled “Diseño y valoración de la expresión de los genes RNASEL, ELAC2, MSR1 y KLK3. ” developed on GENYO and Universitary Virgen de las Nieves Hospital. Moreover, I am as a collaborator researcher in 14 projects, two of them funded by H2020 European Comission (Ubiquitous Pharmacogenomics (U-PGx): Making actionable pharmacogenomic data and effective treatment optimization accessible to every European citizen and Reliable Novel Liquid Biopsy technology for early detection of colorectal cancer). My predoctoral training was developed at Legal Medicine and Toxicology Department at University of Granada. During this period I taught at Chemistry Engineering, Criminology Universitary Degrees and Forensic Anthropology and Genetic and Genomic Medicine Masters. During this period I completed my formation by two foreign stages at USA and Portugal in main research centres that have improved my training in genetic workflows with minimal samples. The postdoctoral stage started at the University of Granada with a contract of University teaching and researching (PDI), followed by nearly 3 years of stay in a foreign University. I was granted by the University of Granada (10 months) and subsequently by a private foundation (Alfonso Martin Escudero) during 2 years for developing my postdoctoral training at the University of Tor Vergata, Italy. During this stage I kept on improving my training in working with minimal samples in one of the best laboratories with the accommodations for this purpose. For returning to Spain I obtained a contract as postdoctoral in a H2020 project (Ubiquitous Pharmacogenomics (U-PGx): Making actionable pharmacogenomic data and effective treatment optimization accessible to every European citizen), at the same time I kept on my collaborations with GENYO and LORGEN enterprise. From October 2016 to September 2017, I had a position as Interine Professor at Cell Biology Department, and combined with scientific tasks. In September 2017 I won a position at UGR as a Professor at Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department, which is currently developed in combination of research tasks and students supervising (5 PhD students, Master students). I have experience with publications in high impact journals. Specifically I participated in 52 scientific papers, in 40 of them as a first, second or last author. I have also participated in 5 international chapters of books and a whole book. I have presented 28 communications at international conferences.
