Biography

Ikerbasque Research Professor at the University of Deusto. My research focuses on the study of the most conducive learning environments that impact on children’s cognitive, social and emotional development to ultimately achieve educational success and inclusion for all. I have been Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellow at the University of Cambridge (2013-2015), and co-PI of the ChiPE FP7 EU project, with Dr Linda Hargreaves, and I was a Research Associate Fellowship at Wolfson College. I focused my research on Successful Dialogic Learning Environments that create an inclusive climate. I contributed this knowledge in several R+D national and European Projects from the 6th, 7th and H2020 EU Framework Programme. I have been the Principal Investigator in several research projects advancing knowledge in this field (IMP-EXIT 2015-2017; INTERACT 2018-2020, CHILDPRO) funded by the Spanish "National Research Programme aimed at the Challenges of Society". Currently I am the PI for the Horizon Europe SCIREARLY project and partner for the IMPROVA project. Secretary General of the World Educational Research Association (WERA 2022-2026).
