Biography
I got my BS. degree from the University of Extremadura (UEX) in September 2016 and my MS. degree in July 2017 from the University of Salamanca. I started my research activity in 2017 in the Department of Physics of the UEX being contracted for a scientific project within the Atmospheric Physics Group (AIRE). During this period, my work focused on analyzing the generalized extreme value distribution by using Bayesian inference. Afterwards, I got my Ph. D. in Physics (with honors, Cum Laude, and International Doctorate mention) in the same department at the Statistical Physics Group (SPhinX). This work was funded by a competitive FPI pre-doctoral fellowship (Spanish government). My Doctoral Thesis addressed the study of granular suspensions using kinetic theory tools, resulting in the recognition of an Extraordinary Doctorate Prize from the UEX. Problems related with rheological and transport properties, memory effects, or stability analysis of particle-laden suspensions were studied from a fundamental point of view. After obtaining my Ph.D., I obtained a postdoctoral position in the UEX. The objective of this contract was to continue investigating diffusion and segregation processes of monocomponent and binary suspensions as well as complementing previous studies about non-Newtonian properties of granular suspensions by considering a newly proposed collision model. After that, in 2024, I secured a position as a lecturer in the area of mathematics education at UEX. Consequently, my research now focuses on the study of the influence of the affective domain on mathematical learning by applying different methodologies. Relevant results of my research have been covered in 22 publications, including two book chapters and 20 journal articles (17 of them being Q1 in JCR and 18 as first author).
