Biography
Hossein Nourzad is a university professor, senior scientist, and consultant specializing in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), financial modeling, and project management, with over 17 years of experience in infrastructure development. A World Bank-accredited CP3P trainer, Hossein has collaborated with international organizations such as UNECE, UNESCAP, EBRD, and top universities like Drexel University and the Technical University of Munich. He is a member of the UNECE Drafting Team for the "Guide on Promoting Climate Resilient PPP and Infrastructure Projects in Support of the SDGs," a UNECE PIERS Project Evaluator for sustainability, and serves on the leadership committee of the WAPPP Academic Chapter.
Hossein’s expertise spans economic appraisal, risk assessment, and the financial sustainability of infrastructure projects in the USA, Europe, South Asia, and Africa. He has advised on PPP projects across various sectors, structuring financial models and enhancing project resilience. His involvement in global initiatives includes co-authoring UNESCAP’s "Infrastructure Financing for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific" and developing PPP training guides for the Asia-Pacific region.
With over 40 MSc and PhD students under his supervision, Hossein has advanced research in sustainability, technology integration (Blockchain, AI, BIM), and gender inequality in infrastructure. Recognized for his contributions, he has received awards such as the 2019 ASCE Outstanding Reviewer Award and the 2012 PMI Education Foundation Scholarship. Hossein’s blend of academic expertise and practical experience, along with his role in evaluating sustainability for UNECE, makes him a trusted advisor on complex infrastructure projects, capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering value in both developed and emerging markets.
