Biography

My research focuses on young people’s health (i.e., alcohol misuse, drug use and sexual behaviour), and the ways in which psychological, social and cultural influences shape young people's health behaviours. I am particularly interested in understanding the determinants of alcohol use among university students who study abroad and other travelling populations, and opportunities for prevention. Recently, I have also conducted formative and evaluation research on school-based mentoring programmes. To support my interdisciplinary approach, I use mixed methods, and I am experienced in both qualitative and quantitative methods.
