Biography
Nayda G. Santiago is professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus (UPRM) where she teaches the Capstone Course in Computer Engineering, Undergraduate Research, and Computer Architecture. Since 2006 she has been a member of the Computing Alliance for Hispanic Serving Institutions (CAHSI) where she is a trainer to undergraduate researchers using the Affinity Research Group (ARG) Model and also trains faculty to adopt the ARG model. She is the current lead of the Southeast Region of CAHSI. Dr. Santiago is NCWIT academic alliance member, lifetime member of SACNAS, senior member of the IEEE, member of the ACM, and member of the Latinas in Computing (LiC) organization. Dr. Santiago has been awarded the 2017 CRA-E Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentoring Award, 2008 Henaac Educator Award, and 2008 UPRM Distinguished Alumni award. She directs the Cyber-Physical Systems and Internet of Things Laboratory of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez.
