Biography

Dr. Ayodeji Olalekan Salau received a B.Eng. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. He received his MSc and PhD degrees in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is a registered professional engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Dr. Salau serves as a reviewer for various reputable international journals, and is Co-Chair and technical program committee member of various international conferences. Dr. Salau has authored 3 Academic books and has over 200 international research articles in major reputable international Journals, book series, and conferences. His research interests include research in the fields of computer vision, image processing, signal processing, artificial intelligence, and power systems engineering. In 2019, Dr. Salau’s paper was awarded the best paper of the year in Cogent Engineering. In 2020, he received the Quarterly Franklin Membership from the Editorial Board of London Journals Press for top quality research output. Also in 2020, he received the International Research Award on New Science Inventions (NESIN) under the category of “Best Researcher Award” given by ScienceFather. In 2022, he received the International Best Researcher Award given by the ISSN International Science & Technology Awarding body (IISTAC-2022). Also, he received the best researcher award for the year 2020-2022 from the Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Nigeria. According to the SciVal (SCOPUS- Elsevier) analysis/ranking of academics, Dr. Salau is among the top researchers in Nigeria. Recently, Dr. Salau was ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the field of Artificial Intelligence by Scopus Elsevier/Stanford University in 2023, 2024. Currently, Dr. Salau works at Afe Babalola University as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical/Electronics and Computer Engineering.
