Biography

My research is based on a multidisciplinary collaboration across different disciplines, emphasizing the importance of pre-theoretical descriptions, mapping diversity, and providing new insights in the fields of social interaction, facial behavior, and affective science.

To overcome the limitations of narrow sampling, I conduct studies in two small-scale, indigenous societies: the Trobrianders of Papua New Guinea and the Mwani of Mozambique.
