Biography

My work aims to address challenging issues in care and services for children with disabilities and their families in innovative ways. It is rooted in intensive collaborations with selected researchers and colleagues at BC Children's Hospital; other BC Children's Hospital and UBC researchers, with whom we in turn link to the Canadian NeuroDevNet network; and a research team investigating caregiver health which is distributed across a number of academic centres in Canada.

I also co-founded and remain linked to a research collaborative within Developmental Neurosciences & Child Health known as Children and Youth with Disabilities in Society (CYDiS). The CYDiS mission is to promote, conduct, support and coordinate research aimed primarily at understanding needs, measuring health status, and evaluating and improving services for this population across all relevant service sectors (including health, education, family and social services).
