Biography
Dr Liu Huiming is an Assistant Professor at Macau University of Science and Technology. Associate Member of American Institute of Architecture (AIA), and Affiliate Member of Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Before his current position, Dr Liu was working as a Lecturer in the College of Art and Design at Beijing University of Technology, and a Research Associate Professor at Laboratory for Future City (LFC) within the School of Urban Planning and Design at Peking University. He is a peer reviewer in several high-quality international journals, such as International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH), Land, and Sustainability. Dr Liu gained his master's degree (2011), and later his PhD at Oxford Brookes University in 2020. Currently, his research focuses on how public space could better adapt various human actions, needs and experiences based on local contextualization among global influences. Dr Liu is strongly invested in interdisciplinary, experimental, and collaborative research methods in his research and practice, advocating holistically the design of a project that sustainably and regeneratively addresses the local context. Dr Liu as an experienced designer has led and participated in various projects across China for the past decade.
