Biography
Yu SUN receives his B. Eng. degree in biomedical engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China, in 2005, the Ph.D. degree in electronic, electrical and system engineering from Loughborough University, United Kingdom, in 2011, and the joint-Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2012. During 2012 – 2017, he was initially a post-doc research fellow and later senior research fellow at the Centre for Life Sciences at National University of Singapore, Singapore. He is current a Research Professor at the Key Laboratory for Biomedical Engineering of Ministry of Education of China, Zhejiang University. Dr. Sun is a recipient of the Best Poster Award of IEEE Life Science Grand Challenge Conference 2013 (IEEE LSGCC) and the Best Paper Award Finalist of IEEE EMBS Neural Engineering Conference 2017 (IEEE NER). Dr. Sun has served as an Associate Editor of the journal Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing since 2017; and served as an Associate Editor of the journal IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering since 2019; and provided regular review service for more than 10 peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Sun’s research emphasis has been placed on the integration of the neural engineering, cognitive sciences, and neuroergonomics in service of insights into functions of the brain, cognition, and behavior. In particular, his research work on passive brain-computer interface, brain state monitoring, and multimodal brain connectome has led to more than 40 journal articles in the prestigious engineering journals such as Annals of Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering.
