Biography

I am an astrophysicist based in Cape Town, South Africa, where I work as eResearch Director at the University of Cape Town and as Astroinformatics Research Professor at the Department of Astronomy and at the Inter-University Institute for Data Intensive Astronomy (IDIA), where I serve as ilifu cloud computing facility director. I was formerly the founding eResearch Director at the University of the Western Cape (2019-2022), a Senior Research Fellow at the University of the Western Cape (2011-2019) and a Research Fellow at the University of Padova (2005-2011) and Imperial College London (2003-2005). I previously received a PhD in Space Science & Technology from the Department of Astronomy and the Center for Space Studies and Activities "Giuseppe Colombo" of the University of Padova and an MSc in Physics from the Department of Physics "Galileo Galilei" of the University of Padova.
