Biography

Marek Żukow-Karczewski was born 6 May 1961. He is a Polish historian, publicist and journalist who specializes in the history of Poland, in the history of Krakow, in the history of architecture, in the history of culture and in ecology issues. He studied history at the Jagiellonian University. Since 1980 he worked for rescuing monuments in Krakow.
He is the author over 400 publications and articles. His work has been published in magazines and newspapers ("Kraków", "Kalendarz Serca Jezusowego", "Aura", "Posłaniec Serca Jezusowego", "Życie Literackie", "Przekrój", "Gazeta Krakowska", "Czas Krakowski", "Echo Krakowa") and in web portals (Ekologia.pl, Wolne Media, My21). Also collaborated with Polish Television and Polish Radio in Krakow. He is the co-organizer of the Obywatelski Komitet Ratowania Krakowa (Citizens Committee for Saving Krakow). In 1991 he became a member of the Stowarzyszenie Dziennikarzy Polskich (Association of Polish Journalists) and the International Federation of Journalists.
