Biography

Full Professor and Serra Húnter Fellow in Information Science and Communication Studies in the Department of Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). He develops his teaching and research activity in Communication Studies, applying techniques from Information Science and ICTs to this field. He has coordinated and participated in multiple research projects, financed by public and private institutions. He has also published dozens of works, many of them in high-impact journals. In addition, he has been Coordinator of the DigiDoc Research Group at UPF (2015-2019). He has been a lecturer in various undergraduate, master and doctorate degrees, although mainly in Journalism Studies. He has led and participated in teaching innovation projects. In his subjects he has used different teaching methods, mainly PBL. He has received the Universitat Pompeu Fabra Board of Trustees Award for teaching quality, category: teaching activities in the Journalism Studies programme. Likewise, he has developed academic administration tasks at UPF, among which the following stand out: Dean of the Faculty of Communication (currently); Secretary of the Faculty of Communication (2019-2024); Member and Secretary of the Works Council at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2014-2016).
