Biography
Mujeeb attended Sonmori Comprehensive High School in Lagos, Nigeria. He proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Nigeria, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Mujeeb worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Outreach Women and Children Hospital, and LAUTECH Teaching Hospital for a period of 8yrs. He then proceeded to the University of Lagos, where he bagged a Master’s degree in Cell Biology and Genetics; he graduated with a distinction grade and emerged as the Best Student in Cell and Molecular Biology specialization. Mujeeb furthered his education in the United States at Michigan Technological University, where he earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He completed his Ph.D. with a perfect CGPA of 4.0 out of 4.0; he won the prestigious Dean’s Award for Outstanding Scholarship, the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award, and the Doctoral Finishing Fellowship. Mujeeb is a fellow of the Association of Clinical Scientists (ACS), a fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), a member of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), an ASCP certified International Technologist in Molecular Biology MB(ASCP), and an ASCP certified Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS(ASCP). Mujeeb is currently employed as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. He's working on a research that focuses on the use of Drosohila species as model to study the molecular mechanisms by which charantin improves glucose tolerance and ameliorate insulin resistance in diabetes.
