Biography

Prof. Alhadi Bustamam was borned in Panampung (Agam-West Sumatera) in 18 September 1972. He received his bachelor degree in computational mathematics in 1996, master degree in computer science in 2002 from Universitas Indonesia, and PhD degree in bioinformatics from The University of Queensland, Australia in 2011. His research focuses on computational mathematics, computational biology, bioinformatics, data science and artificial intelligence and big data analytics. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor and the Head of Postgraduate Study Program in Mathematics, the Head of Bioinformatics and Advanced Computing Laboratory (BACL) at Department of Mathematics, and he is also serving as the Chairman of Data Science Center (DSC) www.dsc.ui.ac.id at Universitas Indonesia. He has published more than 120 international scientific publications indexed by Scopus. He is also working in collaboration between Data Science Center and Industries/National or International private companies (e.g SAMSUNG, UMG Idea Labs, Global Risk Management, Aksaramaya, etc) to establish new startup company in the field of data science and big data analytics for various targeted solutions in the industry, including heath care, such as AI application for insurance (URIMOlife, COVCO), healthcare (ATM-Sehat).He is reviewer of various International Journals associated with IEEE, ACM, Elsevier, and Wiley. He is also reviewer of DIKTI Research Grants and LPDP Scholarships Program.
