Biography
My research interests lie at the intersections of mobility, migration and border studies, and the anthropology and sociology of law and the state. I have been researching the European asylum and migration regime with a particular focus on interrupted journeys by migrants with a precarious legal status. My empirical research has primarily focused on Central European countries but has also included research stays in Indonesia and Malta. In my research projects, I use qualitative research methods (including participant observation, biographical and semi-structured interviews; content analysis, Grounded Theory). My teaching assignments include courses on migration and border studies, precarious housing and social theory (Bourdieu and Foucault).
