Biography
Lars Allan Larsen is professor of Developmental Genetics. His research interest is the fundamental aspects of human embryonic development and birth defects. His research has special focus on the genetic and functional aspects of human cardiac development and congenital heart disease, but he is also interested in investigating genetic and molecular mechanisms involved in other areas of human embryonic development, including development of the brain. Prof. Larsen's research group have identified several novel disease genes and mechanisms involved in embryonic development and birth defects. The group uses a multidiciplinary approach, which combine human genetic studies with functional analyses in tissues, cell models and zebrafish.
