Biography

Khaled M. Aboshanab, is a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt and worked as Vice Dean for Post-graduate Studies and Scientific Research for 6 years (April 2018-April 2024), Acting Dean (September 2019-April 2020) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Professor Aboshanab is currently on a scientific mission as a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University Technology MARA (UiTM), Selangor, Malaysia since April 2024.
Dr Aboshanab obtained his BSc in Pharmacy from Alexandria University (1996, Distinction Honour), Egypt, MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Microbiology and Immunology) from Ain Shams University (2001), Egypt, and Ph.D. (Microbiology and Immunology) from Wuppertal University, Germany in 2005.

He is a member of the American Society of Microbiology (ASM membership, ID 200179329 and a former reporter of the medical sector of the strategic research committee of Ain Shams University (2018-2023). He worked as a member of the permanent committee of postgraduate studies and Scientific Research, Ain Shams University from 2018-2024 and a member of the national committee for promoting Professors and assistant professors, round 47 (Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Immunology), Egyptian Supreme council (2022-2025). He worked as a director of the quality assurance unit (QAU) of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University from October 2012 to October 2017 during this time, the faculty received national accreditation since 2017, recently in May 2023, we got international accreditation from the ACPE for the two undergraduate programs (PharmD and PharmD clinical), Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University.

He got an international patent and published 125 international, and 20 national scientific publications and one international book as well as 172 genome/gene Submissions in the NCBI GenBank database. He worked an Editor in Chief of the Archives of Pharmaceutical Sciences Ain Shams University and Associate Editor of AMB Express Journal (Springer Nature) as well as a peer reviewer for many international journals, guest editor to Frontiers in Cellular and Infectious Microbiology.
