Biography

Ph.D. in physical, chemical, and geological oceanography graduated in Brasil in 2019. My area of expertise is numerical modeling with a particular focus on the interactions and potential feedback of the biogeochemical processes in face of a changing climate in the Northern Humboldt Current System. In the past, I have worked with ENSO-driven effects on biogeochemistry, the effects of global warming-induced upwelling intensification on primary production rates, and the drivers of the CO2-carbonate system off the Peruvian coastal region.

Currently, I am a post-doctoral/associate researcher on a 2-year project that studies the impact of extreme events, such as the so-called Marine Heatwaves and hypoxic events in the Peruvian sea. This project is being executed by the Peruvian Institute of the Sea (IMARPE).
