Biography

Anil Kumar Jaiswal is originally from India, he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology and Master’s in Biotechnology from Gorakhpur University, India, and he received his Ph.D. from Central Drug Research Institute/Jawaharlal Nehru University in life science in India. His research was focused on development of recombinant heat shock proteins as vaccine against visceral leismaniasis (Kala-azar). During his Ph.D. tenure, he also developed DsRed transgenic based drug screening model against visceral leishmaniasis using flow cytometry. He then started his postdoctoral training with Abdel Hamad at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. His research is focused on the role syndecan-1 (Sdc-1) in homeostasis of IL-17 producing Natural Killer T17 cells in autoimmunity.
