Biography

Jusef Hassoun is presently Associated Professor of Physical-Chemistry and Electrochemistry at the University of Ferrara, Italy, Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and associated researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Genova, Italy. He has been Assistant Research Scientist at the Chemistry Department of the University of Rome Sapienza, Italy, from 2011 to 2015. After graduating in Chemistry in 2001, he worked in a company for 3 years before returning to academy to obtain the PhD degree in Material Science in the field of advanced lithium ion batteries in 2009. He has been visiting professor at the Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan, with activity focusing on new generation energy storage systems, such as lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur and lithium-air batteries. Jusef Hassoun is author of more than 180 papers in international journals, book and chapters in the field of electrochemistry and energy storage.
