Biography
Cancer researcher with a PhD in Biomedical Science, with a focus on Cancer Epidemiology. My work is dedicated to advancing cancer control with extensive experience in cancer prevention and early detection, particularly in cervical cancer.
My expertise includes protocol development, study design, development and validation of standard operating procedures, project management, training facilitation, data analysis, report and manuscript preparation, and supporting the writing of grant proposals. I also have a strong understanding of implementation research.
I have participated in multicentre projects such as the ESTAMPA study in Latin America, evaluating HPV testing and triage techniques for cervical precancer detection. Recently, I began working on Implementation Research projects, including the CBIG-SCREEN study in Europe which assesses interventions to increase cervical cancer screening among vulnerable populations. Additionally, I am currently part of the IARC team supporting the European Commission Initiative on Cervical Cancer (EC-CvC) which aims to develop updated, patient-centred, evidence-based guidelines on HPV vaccination, cervical cancer screening, and the diagnosis and management of precancerous lesions.
I have proven experience in international collaborations with researchers and clinicians across Latin America and Europe, demonstrating strong ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent scientific writing and communication skills:
• First-author and co-author of manuscripts in high-impact journals
• Delivered multiple oral presentations and poster sessions at leading international scientific conferences
My research interests include cancer prevention and early detection, cancer epidemiology and implementation research.
