Biography

Britt Wildemann has been Head of Experimental Trauma Surgery at Jena University Hospital since 2018. Before that, she headed the group "Biological Basics of Musculoskeletal Regeneration" at the Berlin-Brandenburg Center for Regenerative Therapies since October 2009. She is a biologist and holds a PhD in neurobiology from the Free University of Berlin. She has been working in the field of musculoskeletal research since 1999. Her research group examines the regeneration of the musculoskeletal system with a focus on tendon pathologies, bony regeneration and infection prophylaxis and therapy. Using in vitro studies on different cell types and different animal models, they continue to explore different approaches to influence tendon and bone healing and to treat infections.
