Biography

My research interests lie in theoretical modeling of mass and energy transfer, phase change and interface issues in the multi-discipline areas like Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Tribology. The theoretical modeling includes First principle simulation, atomic scale modeling based on molecular dynamics simulation (LAMMPS), mesoscale/microscale modeling like dislocation dynamics and Cellular Automata, and the macroscale continuum modeling based on FEM/FDM. The goal of my research is to bridge the material microstructural, chemical composition with the macroscale mechanical properties, tribology performance, and fatigue life.
