Biography

Dr. Umar Farooq is an experienced academic with a passion for teaching finance and leveraging data for analysis and visualization. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Professor at NAMAL University, Mianwali. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at FAST-NUCES from 2015 to 2024. He also served Lahore Leads University as lecturer from 2012 to 2015.

Dr. Farooq completed his PhD from COMSATS Lahore in the area of costs and prediction of financial distress. He also completed his BBA (Finance) and MBA (Finance) from University of the Punjab. Currently, he is also completing his online Dars e Nizami from https://www.quranteacher.net/.

He is specialized in corporate finance issues especially regarding prediction of financial distress, costs of financial distress, restructuring strategies, capital structure decisions, working capital policies and dividend policy. He is also an expert of various mind mapping software, literature review software, reference management software and quantitative data analysis software.
