Biography

Irit Felsen, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist specializing in the long-term effects of trauma and intergenerational trauma. She is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Department of Psychology and at Yeshiva University Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.

Dr. Felsen is co-chair of the NGO Committee on Mental Health in Consultative relationship with the United Nations and the Chair of the Older Adults and Caregivers group in the American Psychological Association Interdivison Covid-19 Task Force. Dr. Felsen is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and a PI with the Yale University Trauma Study Group, Genocide Studies Program.

Dr. Felsen’s publications appeared as book chapters and papers in peer-reviewed professional journals including Psychoanalytic Psychology, American Psychiatry, American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, the journal of Psychoanalysis, Self and
Context, and others.

Dr. Felsen maintains a private practice in NJ, where she works with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
