Dr. Eun-Soon Im now serves as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Environment and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Before the current position, she had worked as a research scientist at the National Institute of Meteorological Research (Korea), International Centre for Theoretical Physics (Italy), and Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (Singapore). She specializes in the development and improvement of the Regional Climate Model (RCM), and has studied regional climate changes over various regions worldwide. The main goal of her research is to advance understanding of the potential changes in regional climate due to anthropogenic forcings (e.g. greenhouse gas emission, land-use change) and to produce high-quality climate information for comprehensive impact assessment, especially in the regions characterized by complex physiographical features.
