Biography
Julia Dratva is a medical doctor with a background in internal medicine. She holds a master’s in public health and the specialist certification (FMH) for "Prevention and Public Health". Next to her research focus on child and adolescent health, early life factors of health and chronic disease, she has acquired extensive expertise on health monitoring and observational cohort studies. Lately, she developed a particular interest digital public health and health literacy.
She co-leads the Institute of Public Health at the School of Health Sciences, ZHAW Zürich University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland, and heads of the research division at the same institute. Next to her professorship in Public Health at ZHAW, Julia Dratva holds an assistant professorship position at the medical faculty of the university of Basel, where she habilitated in 2016. She is vice-president of the Child and Adolescent Public Health Section of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA). Further, she presides the Swiss Society of Public Health Doctors (FMH) and belongs to the academic faculty of the Swiss School of Public Health+.
