Biography

I'm a poet, and the author of two poetry collections - the most recent of which is The Seed Drill (Kelsay, 2023).

My research output almost exclusively consists of my creative practice. My current poetic project explores constraint, fragmentation, and how compositional techniques from music and other art genres might inform work on the page. I'm particularly interested in if/how experimental poetic form and technique enables explorations of Christian belief.

These questions of Christian poetics infuse my critical literature research. I ask how poets and poetry - particularly the work of Michael Symmons Roberts - might explore aspects of faith and encounter in a (post-)secular language and culture.

My education research investigates the role and use of digital technologies in supporting teachers to develop student creative thinking - particularly in the primary classroom.
