Biography

Saeid Haghighatshoar was born in Sarab, Iran.

He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering in 2007 in Electronics and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering in 2009 in Communication Systems both from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and the Ph.D. degree in 2014 in Computer and Communication Sciences from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. From 2015 to 2019, he was a postdoctoral researcher with Communications and Information Theory (CommIT) group at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin). He joined CSEM in Neuchatel as a wireless machine learning engineer in 2020-2021. Since August 2021, he is a senior staff machine learning engineer within the algorithm team at SynSense, AG in Zurich, Switzerland working on design and implementation of novel training methods for spiking neural networks.

His research interests lie in machine learning, algorithm design, information theory, communication systems, wireless communication, compressed sensing, and optimization theory.
